Farmers Markets
The Farmer-Consumer Connection
Farmers markets are local venues where people can purchase directly from local growers, moving fresh food quickly from farm to their tables. These events can also feature live entertainment for shoppers. There are seven farmers markets in La Crosse County, including four in the city of La Crosse. For a listing of farmers markets in the area, see page 59.
CAMERON PARK
The Cameron Park Market Association was formed in
2003 by a core group of farmers and interested consum- ers in the La Crosse region. It was founded as a 501(c)3 in order to advocate for the re-creation of Market Square, a historic farmers market in La Crosse’s downtown from 1868 to 1957, and to prioritize the role of the region’s farmers in the La Crosse lifestyle. The Cameron Park Farmers Market is the only vendor-run farmers market in the La Crosse area, with approx- imately 55 vendors selling locally raised and grown produce, meats and dairy as well as arts and crafts.

Nell has been the CPM manager since 2012. To receive weekly electronic Cameron Park Market newsletters during the farmers market season, email Nell at cameronparkmarket@hotmail.com.
*FoodShare is part of La Crosse County Health Department’s Get Active La Crosse program and was created to help stop hunger and to improve nutrition and health for those with limited means.
