SHAKESPEARE IN THE
SCHOOLS
For three weeks GRSF teaching artists worked with students in and out of school to deepen their ability to understand and perform Shakespeare.
Almost 200 students from Cotter, La Crescent, and Winona Senior High Schools took part in this program in 2015.
SHAKESPEARE FOR YOUNG ACTORS/ SHAKESPEARE FOR
YOUNG DESIGNERS
Students in grades 7-12 learn from GRSF’s professional theater artists in an intensive three-week performance and technical theater workshop.
GRSF teaching artists introduced students to techniques of acting, text analysis, design and production.
Students gave public presenta- tion of designs for and a perfor- mance of Macbeth.
CHILL WITH WILL
GRSF presents special perfor- mances for each production allowing students to attend for free
Additional programming allowed students a deeper look into the play and behind-the-scenes of the theater.
Nearly 100 students at each performance had the chance to experience Shakespeare, many for the rst time.

CONVERSATIONS
These well-liked introductions to the plays were offered 30 minutes before every performance for the second year in a row.
Audience members were given an informative handout speci c to each show including:
an introduction to the world of the play
a character map with photos
important pieces of addition- al information necessary to the play
