During our walk the other day, we came upon San Cristóbal’s firehouse. Normally, we wouldn’t be all that curious about it, but since Huppy’s BFF (and I’m so going to get grief for calling him that) is a fireman in NOLA, we poked our heads in and took a look around.
The Necropolis
Yesterday it was a beautiful cool day here in St. Cristóbal so we went for a looooong walk. (I’m sorry for you folks up there in the US. We’ve been hearing how awful it’s been, temperature-wise.)

As we have posted, it’s election time here in Mexico, including local elections in San Cristóbal de las Casas. We have already commented on the political aspects of the elections. Another peculiar happening during election time is that the city has become dry, that is, no alcohol.

The sun was out. I’ll post more about it another time, but this made me laugh.
It’s Election Time Here – UPDATE
And it’s all over on July 2 and we can’t wait.
For one thing, there are these cars driving around with loudspeakers, blaring information for this candidate or that. Even if I spoke good Spanish, I doubt I’d understand what the hell they were saying. It’s very garbled and distorted because the volume is so high.
